No, it’s not a flasher thing!
This was my Introduction on another forum. I’ll share it here because it’s who I am.
I’ll add some extra comments to it.
Hello all. My name is Jeffrey Allan Boman, but JA Boman is shorter to type. I’m another person from Montréal, Canada. I also speak French, Spanish, and, by next year, Yiddish (more of a patois, a mix of Hebrew and German). English is the only one I can write, though.
We’re everywhere.
Why I call myself a 21st Century Renaissance Man:
- I’ve been a writer since I was 14 (I’m 57 now). I’ve been a fan of SF/F almost since I could read.
- In college, I took a course on Detective fiction and found another genre I loved.
In Quebec, colleges are called CEGEPs. They’re the equivalent of grades 12 and 13.
- At university, I was in the animation wing of the film school. Ultimately, I was more assertive as a screenplay writer in that field than as an artist — but I had film history courses, where I found another love: film noir.
- It’s under the umbrella of Fine Arts. Art was a requisite, so I was OK enough to pass the course. l knew…
