Keep Flying. Keep Writing

The Lockdown from Covid-19 began here in April. I’ve homebound since then. As I write this it’s Aug. 6, 2020.

I’m both a fiction and content writer. You’d think t Check. All days go together?

You’d be wrong.

I’ve been fighting off a lethargic funk caused by it. Lethargy? Living with it. Check.

All days blend together? Double-check.

Does time feel like it has no meaning after so long? Yes. Triple-check.

A major fact made me write again:

This won’t change anytime soon. YOU should change.

I have a blog. I’m here on Medium. I have a mailing list. I’m editing a novel. All these only progress if I work on them.

I heard Jerry Pournell say this (though someone else may have said it first):

Write one word. Then, one more. Do it again and again, until they form a sentence. Repeat until they form a paragraph. Then, until they form a page. Keep going. Eventually, pages become a story.

(paraphrased)

Replace ‘story’ with ‘blog post’, ‘Medium post’ or ‘newsletter’, and that’s me.

I hope I do that more often.

Get a short story.
